Koh Tao Travel Information
Koh Tao (also “Turtle Island”) is an island in Thailand located off the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand.
It is out near Koh Samui and can be accessed by ferry from Koh Phangan or Koh Samui
The island of Koh Tao covers an area of about 21 km².
Being so small you can see the whole island and view beautiful sunrises and sunsets on the same day.
Koh Tao Diving
Koh Tao is famously known as Thailand’s number one scuba diving destination.
It is also rated as some of Asia’s top dive sites as there are many dice sites located around this beautiful island.
The economy of the island is almost exclusively centred around tourism, especially scuba diving.
The island conducts more scuba diving courses than anywhere else in the whole of Asia!
There are many diving companies and many different diving tours you can go on.
If you have no experience, then there are starter courses.
There are also course where you can get your diving certificates.
How To Get To Koh Tao
The most common way to get to Koh Tao is via Koh Samui Airport.
It has regular flights from Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket and then it’s a short boat crossing to Koh Tao
There are four main ways to get to Koh Tao.
Some are more expensive but quicker and some are cheap but slower.
You can go directly from Bangkok or fly to Koh Samui and take the ferry.
Also you can fly from Bangkok to Surat Thani and then catch a bus and a ferry.
You can also fly from Bangkok to Chumphon and take the ferry

Koh Tao Accommodation
